No cereal, but plenty of Post in this post

I admit I have a bit of a soft spot for these early 60s Post cereal box cut out cards, and I really have no idea why.  They just seem all sorts of cool to me, so while I have no illusions of completing any of these sets, when I get I chance to snag some cheap, well I don't hesitate to buy them.  These are the Posts cards that I picked up at the card show I mentioned in the previous post where I finished my 1960 set.  In the same mark down box where I snagged the Yogi for $10, I found that wonderful Koufax marked down from 50 to $5 thanks to that wonderful crease through the picture...now I cannot express how fast a 62 Koufax for only $5 ends up in my pile!!!  That is a purchase I am quite proud of, love that card.  The other 7 all came from a 50% off box at another sellers's table... and they all were marked .50 before mark, yep for .25/card I nabbed all 7 making a nice little 6.75 spent on 8 awesome Post cards.  One note on the other 7 is that Dean Chance is a legend in the north central Ohio area and he hails from a town less than an hour from where I live.  Getting this card in hand has lead me to the conclusion that I really need to add as many Dean Chance cards to my collection as possible.  So if you got some spare Dean Chance's--- send 'em my way.

Ok next I will try and get some of the 1956 and older cards I picked up from the show.....of course who knows when I will get them posted....

thanks for reading and LET'S MAKE A DEAL!!!

And the 1960 set is DONE....or is it????

And there they are the final 2 cards to complete my 1960 Topps set!!! A few weeks back I went to always awesome quarterly card show at the Franklin County Veteran's Memorial building, and my goal, as always at a card show, was to find me some great vintage.  And found it I did!!! How can you do better than the final 2 cads to a set.  First I found this well loved Yogi in a discount box for the decent price of $10... its Yogi and it my next to last needed card....so I didnt even hesitate and boom it was mine.....oh by the way... you got a '60 Koufax as well... no...rats oh well.... on to the next booth.... and let me tell you there is a lot of great vintage at this show...and I picked up plenty of 55s and 56s off my lists as well, which i hope to get scanned in at some point.... but today is all about yogi and sandy....

anyway back to the search for the Sandy Koufax....  no luck checking in till I get to one of the last booths.... well its not fair to say no luck.... there were a few full on book priced cards.... but hey I am a dumpster diver....I dont pay full book!!!  and then in all its glory I found it and at a price I like for $29 the Sandy was all mine!!!  My 1960 set is DONE!!! or is it? as I ask in the title.... I do have a bit of an issue.... for you see while I have all the cards for the set....I am not sure the set is done till the pages in the binder are full and well 2 of the cards cant go in the pages, the graded Mickey Mantle and Willie Mccovey cards I bought..... do I need to buy some ungraded cards to go in the binder or do I bust them out of the plastic prisons they are stuck in or do I say to heck with it and call it complete???  In talking with the dealer who sold me the Koufax.... he said he was would bust them from the graded jail and set them free to fill the pages and make it a complete set....and I am inclined to agree.....  I also had a fellow collector emphatically say I was an idiot for even thinking of uncasing those 2 cards for they are in high quality PSA graded cases and not some also ran fly by night scam grading company case..... any thoughts?

Oh I am writing all of this to keep my self from thinking of the next 72 hours or so of freezing cold that is awaiting....not fun times at all....

Simple trade of 1954s

The joy of the internet!!! Thanks to being able to communicate with folks all over the country and well the world and the wonders of $0.66 for a non-machinable PWE, I am able to swap out my extra 1954 Gus Zernial for a needed 1954 card of Ben Wade.  Is it a pretty new mint card.... of course not....  but it is 60 years old and does look marvelous!!!!!  And now its part of my collection!..

Let's make a deal!
